Great Langhe: design, territory and shared growth

Great Langhe: design, territory and shared growth

Wine and exhibit design in the spotlight

Every exhibit design project is born from the balance between aesthetics, functionality and storytelling. With Grandi Langhe, one of the most representative events in the international wine industry, this balance becomes even more central: the exhibit must enhance not only the wines being tasted, but also the territory that generates them.

Since 2019 we have been following the evolution of the event, designing spaces conceived to welcome operators, producers and journalists in a functional, orderly and consistent path with the identity of the Langa and Roero appellations. Every element such as counters, stations, lighting and graphics is designed to transform the tasting into an immersive, clear and fluid experience.

Spatial identity and functionality in the spaces of Great Langhe

The first editions, hosted at the Palazzo Mostre e Congressi “G. Morra” in Alba, called for essential but highly functional solutions. Our job was to transform the designers’ concepts and the Consortia’s requests into concrete elements, consistent with the image of the event:

  • Modular and easily mountable circular counters
  • Linear stations with clean and neat tasting surface
  • Open shelving to support displays and services
  • Integrated lighting to enhance bottles and materials

These arrangements ensured visual lightness, clarity of paths, and an aesthetic impact consistent with the narrative of the Langhe.

An ever-evolving event: from the first editions to 2025

With the arrival at the OGR in Turin (2022), the event grows, and with it the complexity of the layout grows. The design expands, introducing more intricate solutions:

  • Curved structures with hundreds of locations
  • Backlit tops for increased visibility and elegance
  • Matching stools designed for comfort and visual order
  • Suspended graphic boxes to increase recognizability
  • Integrated ledwalls for dynamic and institutional content

In 2024, with 300 wineries and more than 5,000 operators from 30 countries, the event is consolidated as an international reference of Italian wine. Design becomes more narrative, able to tell tradition and innovation through shapes, materials and light.

2025: the new linear configuration

For the ninth edition, hosting 500 wineries and more 5000 visitors, we completely rethought the layout according to the geometry of OGR:

  • Linear system that follows historical tracks
  • 14-meter, multilevel central display stand
  • Over 400 bottles on display, with museographic layout
  • Dedicated press room with 12 double station tables for more than 150 journalists

Solutions designed to improve usability, space, aesthetics and order during tasting and professional moments.

Synergy between design, production and editing

Our approach integrates all phases of outfitting: executive design, in-house production, supplier coordination, and on-site assembly.

Collaboration with local professionals and the technical supervision of Federico Verdi, Exhibit Manager of Saglietti Group, ensure accuracy and consistency in every detail.

A complete service: from concept to final set-up

Materials, finishes, and construction solutions are selected to ensure strength and safety, ease of assembly/disassembly, visual uniformity, and operational functionality in high-attendance events: a complete service from concept to final set-up. Each edition of Grandi Langhe represents an evolution of our method: listening to the needs of the Consortia, translating them into physical solutions and building experiential environments consistent with the identity of the territory.

Our staples:

  • Modular and adaptable spaces
  • Design consistent with the territorial narrative
  • Optimized functionality for professional tastings and meetings
  • Precision construction guaranteed by in-house production and supplier network

From the first circular counters to the large scenic counter in 2025, each element contributes to a goal: to accompany the growth of the event with design solutions that enhance the wine and the territory that represents it.

Caffè San Carlo: the tradition that is renewed under the arcades of Turin

Caffè San Carlo: the tradition that is renewed under the arcades of Turin

In the heart of Piazza San Carlo, inside Palazzo Turinetti, the new San Carlo Café now presents itself as a place where history and contemporary design coexist in balance. Part of the Gallerie d’Italia Torino museum itinerary, the café returns as an iconic and convivial space reinterpreted without losing its identity.

Created in 2022 and still evolving today, the project tells the story of how the dialogue between past and present can transform a historic café into an authentic and refined experience to be enjoyed every day over espresso.

Contemporary design and respect for history

The project, signed by lamatilde and realized with Saglietti Group, was born in 2022 and starts from a fundamental principle: not to alter the original elements.

The large 19th-century chandelier remains the centerpiece of the room, around which a discreet intervention takes shape that is current and respectful of the memory of the place.

Tailored materials, details and solutions

A central element of the décor is the peninsula counter in canned oak and Emperador marble, a dialogue between textural warmth and historical elegance.
They flank each other:

  • custom-made sofas with capitonné work, a tribute to Turin cafes of the late 19th century;
  • a suspended brass-finished metal bottle rack designed not to affect the original mirrors;
  • Integration of professional equipment with an aesthetic shell that enhances the environment.

An intervention in which design is put at the service of existing architecture.

Collaboration and land identity

Managed today by the Costardi Bros., Caffè San Carlo dialogues with the design philosophy of Gallerie d’Italia, between Baroque art and contemporary languages.
For Saglietti Group, this was a special project, made possible thanks to the collaboration with lamatilde, the technical contribution of Francesco Saglietti and the design care of Daria Bergese. An installation that celebrates the most authentic Turin: the one capable of preserving the past and transforming it into the future.

Setting up Infopoint Vernante: design and storytelling in the real country of Pinocchio

Setting up Infopoint Vernante: design and storytelling in the real country of Pinocchio

In the heart of the Protected Areas of the Maritime Alps, the village of Vernante holds a unique magic: to be the authentic “Pinocchio Country.” This is where the illustrator Attilio Mussino, the “uncle of Pinocchio,” lived, and here his images have transformed the village into an open-air picture book. Against this backdrop, Saglietti Group, together with designers Sara Ambrosoli and Paolo Cavallo of the PinetS studio, initiated a project that began in December 2024: to renovate the Infopoint of the Municipality of Vernante, managed by Atl del Cuneese, creating a place where fairy tale, nature and popularization intertwine.

An immersive journey between fairy tale and nature: the ground floor

Entrance and first installations

The project starts from the ground floor, which has been transformed into an experiential and informative space. Among the main elements:

  • Double-sided entrance portal, decorated with images of the village and the Maritime Alps, supported by hidden brackets to comply with underfloor heating: an invisible and scenic solution.
  • Second portal dedicated to the two themes of the trail: Vernante and the Park. On one side, graphics of the village; on the other, a maxi-map of the Protected Areas.
  • Tripoline curtain wall with a projected waterfall: to ascend to the upper floor you cross the water, in an immersive passage that combines fairy tale and nature.

A storytelling designed to engage children, families and visitors, combining fairy tale imagery and storytelling about the area.

On the second floor: exploration, play and education

Educational and interactive spaces

The second floor introduces a journey through biodiversity, geology and discoveries:

  • Cave room with a custom-made central table and stackable transparencies sheets-an intuitive way to follow the evolution of Piaggia Bella cave exploration.
  • Magnetic board with animal silhouettes to be placed in their habitat, designed for teaching young children.
  • Flora and fauna room: tactile logs to recognize the essences of the Marguareis and tactile boxes to discover the fur of animals in the Maritime Alps.
  • Panoramic window with three teaching tables:
    • LED light table for tracing images,
    • Geological table with real rocks and magnifying glass,
    • Tactile table for recreating animal footprints.
  • Media room with custom-designed and made blackout curtains.

A setting for all ages
An educational and multisensory environment designed to engage children, families, schools and curious visitors.

Experiential design and bespoke craftsmanship

Materials, aesthetics and functionality

The project combines aesthetics, functionality and respect for the site. Each element-portals, tables, tactile supports, display structures-was custom-built in our workshops, combining invisible technical solutions, durable and natural materials, and set-ups designed for continued use by families and schools.

A choral project shaping the magic

The work of the team

This intervention was made possible thanks to the professionalism of the team: Daria Bergese for design, Fabrizio “Ciko” Olivero for technical solutions, and Samuele Chiesa, Sofian Ait Lahcen, and Alessio Giacobbe for editing.

Together we have built a place where fairy tale meets mountain, where children explore and adults find wonder.
In Vernante, from a simple piece of wood…the magic of Pinocchio is born again.

Identity, functionality and design: a concept taking shape in Ekinex spaces

Offices and meeting room – the first collaboration (2016)

The first phase of the project involved the second floor, where the initial drawings were transformed into actual construction solutions with attention to detail to reflect the brand identity and increase operational efficiency. Major deliverables include:

  • Birch plywood and glass partition walls, shaped like small houses
  • Birch frames to define volume and depth, enhancing light and room perception
  • Custom-designed desks with built-in cable hatches and red surfaces in brand recall

These elements ensure visual lightness, aesthetic consistency and practicality for daily work.

Evolving spaces: new areas for meetings, gatherings and operational work

Mini-meeting and meeting rooms – ground floor expansion (2023)

2023, Ekinex entrusted Saglietti Group with the transformation of an area of approx. 95 square meters on the ground floor, resulting in a complete and functional intervention:

  • Self-supporting curtain wall made of laminated glass, with internal casing to increase depth and transparency
  • Booth for mini-meetings with colorful faux leather sofas, built-in sockets and side tables made without visible screws
  • Custom-made meeting room with 2.40 × 2.40 m table, iron frame covered with birch, grommet holes and wooden frame

The solutions created ensure flexible, ergonomic spaces that are perfectly consistent with the visual identity of the brand.

From design to production: synergy and control at every stage

Technical collaborations and in-house production

The strength of our method lies in the integrated management of all stages: design, production and assembly. Collaboration with selected partners, such as Vetreria Cassinelli, has made it possible to produce high quality laminated and tempered glass. The end result is a balance between aesthetics, safety and functionality, guaranteed without interfering with the daily activities of the company.

Spaces designed to grow
